Background:
For several years, a health plan offered infant car seats to members for participation in their pre-natal program.  Administration of the incentive became challenging so they began looking for alternative ways to incent participation.

Solution:
Hallmark Business Connections implemented a new incentive – a $50 award redeemable for gift cards – marketed to cover the cost of an infant car seat or other essential items for baby.

Results:

• Participation increased 23% in the first year and another 13% in the next year
• In that next year, the plan increased the award to $75 to accommodate the increased price of infant car seats and added an incentive to encourage families to bring newborns in for a three-month wellness check
